Construction Management
Construction Management is a professional management practice consisting of an array of services applied to construction projects and programs through the planning, design, construction and post construction phases for the purpose of achieving project objectives including the management of quality, cost, time and scope.

Construction Management is a discipline and management system specifically created to promote the successful execution of capital projects for owners. These projects can be highly complex. Few owners maintain the staff resources necessary to pay close, continuing attention to every detail--yet these details can "make or break" a project.

A professional CM can augment the owner's staff with pre-planning, design, construction, engineering and management expertise that can assure the best possible project outcome no matter what type of project delivery method used.

Some of the services Hewes & Company, LLC provides during Pre-Construction Services are:

• Cost Estimating
• Value Engineering and Analysis
• Construction Option Analysis
• Life Cycle Analysis
• Competitive Pricing
• Project Scheduling and Shop Drawing Scheduling
• Subcontractor Schedule Development
• Crew Loading and Cost Loading of Schedules
• Development of a Guaranteed Maximum Price

Design Build
Design-builders want full accountability for architecture, engineering and construction. In fact, like the ancient Greek master builder, they insist on it. By knowledgeably pursuing design quality, and by effectively controlling costs and schedule, a design-builder makes certain that concept-to-completion is more than idle discourse. It is a reality carved in stone.

General Contracting
We contract with organizations or individuals (the owner) for the construction, renovation or demolition of a building, road or other structure.

We are responsible for the means and methods to be used in the construction execution of the project in accordance with the contract documents. Said contract documents usually include the contract agreement including budget, the general and special conditions and the plans and specification of the project that are prepared by a design professional such as an architect.

We are responsible for the supplying of all material, labor, equipment, (engineering vehicles and tools) and services necessary for the construction of the project.

We work with a specialized team of subcontractors to supply any other work necessary to complete your project.

Tax Exempt Services
For those owners who have tax exempt status, Hewes & Company, LLC offers the option of participating in our Owner Purchase Program. We are extremely familiar and well versed in projects involving Owner purchases to save sales tax.

The majority of the healthcare and religious facility projects we construct are for not-for-profit entities. In effect, we become the Owner's agent and as such, we purchase, receive, install, and warrant all materials. Hewes & Company manages and tracks this program entirely for the owner to make sure all subcontractor/vendor invoices are billed correctly and the owner pays for only those materials that have actually been delivered. We then credit the cost of these purchases on our monthly invoice. On large projects, this can result in a great deal of tracking and accounting, but the end result for the owner is worth it.
